Codes of Conduct

                                            CHILD SAFE CODE OF CONDUCT


All employees and volunteers of Bhetsy & Co are responsible for the safety and wellbeing of children and young people who engage with Bhetsy & Co.

 All employees and volunteers are expected to act in accordance with this Code of Conduct in their physical and online interactions with children and young people under the age of 18 years.


The expectation of Bhetsy & Co is that all employees and volunteers will abide by the following:

 • Act in accordance with Bhetsy & Co child safety and wellbeing policies and procedures at all times.

 • Behave respectfully, courteously and ethically towards children and their families and towards other employees and volunteers.

 • Listen and respond to the views and concerns of children, particularly if they communicate (verbally or non-verbally) that they do not feel safe or well.

• Promote the human rights, safety and wellbeing of all children that we support or connect with at Bhetsy & Co.

 • Demonstrate appropriate personal and professional boundaries.

• Consider and respect the diverse backgrounds and needs of children.

• Create an environment that promotes and enables children’s participation and is welcoming, culturally safe and inclusive for all children and their families.

• Involve children in making decisions about activities, policies and processes that concern them wherever possible.

• Contribute, where appropriate, to Bhetsy & Co policies, discussions, learning and reviews about child safety and wellbeing.

• Identify and mitigate risks to children’s safety and wellbeing as required by the Bhetsy & Co risk assessment and management policy or process.

• Respond to any concerns or complaints of child harm or abuse promptly and in line with the Bhetsy & Co policy and procedure for receiving and responding to complaints.

• Report all suspected or disclosed child harm or abuse as required by the Child Abuse Report Line (CARL), the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission for children with disability, The Department of child Protection (DCP) for children under Guardianship and by the Bhetsy & Co policy and procedure on internal and external reporting.

• Comply with Bhetsy & Co protocols on communicating with children.

• Comply with requirements of The Child Abuse Report Line (CARL), the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission, the Department of Child Protection (DCP) and Bhetsy & Co policies and procedures on record keeping and information sharing.


At no point is any employee or volunteer of Bhetsy & Co to:

• Engage in any unlawful activity with or in relation to a child.

• Engage in any activity that is likely to physically, sexually or emotionally harm a child.

• Unlawfully discriminate against any child or their family members.

 • Be alone with a child unnecessarily.

• Arrange personal contact, including online contact, with children they are working with for a purpose unrelated to Bhetsy & Co activities and employment.

• Disclose personal or sensitive information about a child, including images of a child, unless the child and their parent or legal guardian consent or unless the employee/volunteer is required to do so by Bhetsy & Co policy and procedure on reporting.

 • Use inappropriate language in the presence of children or show or provide children with access to inappropriate images or material.

• Work with children while under the influence of alcohol or prohibited drugs.

 • Ignore or disregard any suspected or disclosed child harm or abuse.


If a person feels the Bhetsy & Co Child Safe Code of Conduct has been breached by another person within Bhetsy & Co, this person must:

 • Act to prioritise the best interests of children.

• Take actions promptly to ensure that children are safe.

• Promptly report any concerns to the Chief Executive Officer or Senior Manager as per policy and procedure.

 • Follow Bhetsy & Co policies and procedures for receiving and responding to complaints and concerns.

• Comply with the Bhetsy & Co policy and procedure on internal and external reporting.



                                                       CODE OF CONDUCT


   The NDIS Code of Conduct requires workers and providers who deliver NDIS support to:

  • Act with respect for individual rights to freedom of expression, self-determination, and decision-making in accordance with relevant laws and conventions;

  • Respect the privacy of people with disability;

  • Provide supports and services in a safe and competent manner with care and skill;

  • Act with integrity, honesty and transparency;

  • Promptly take steps to raise and act on concerns about matters that might have an impact on the quality and safety of supports provided to people with disability;

  • Take all reasonable steps to prevent and respond to all forms of violence, exploitation, neglect and abuse of people with disability;

  • Take all reasonable steps to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct.



   The NDIS Code of Conduct is the framework that underpins the Bhetsy & Co Code of Conduct.


   At Bhetsy & Co we will:

  • Be Inclusive

    • We welcome and support people of all backgrounds, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression

  • Be Considerate

    • We will work collaboratively with our colleagues and others to ensure that we deliver appropriate, high quality, safe and compassionate support to enable people to make choices and feel valued

  • Be Confidential

    • Promote and uphold the privacy, confidentiality and dignity, rights, health and wellbeing of our colleagues and our participants and clients

  • Be Committed

    • Continually improve the quality of our services through personal development and contributing to the development of colleagues

    • To have open, respectful communication with each other, our participants and clients using our services

    • Declare conflicts of interest as they arise



   The Aged Care Quality Standards require providers who deliver Residential support to provide:

  • Consumer Dignity and Choice

  • Ongoing Assessment and Planning

  • Personal Care and /or Clinical Care

  • Services and Supports for Daily Living

  • Organisation’s Service Environment

  • Feedback and Complaints

  • Human Resources

  • Organisational Governance


   As a provider of In Home supports, we are still obligated to work under this framework.


   At Bhetsy & Co we will:

  • Be Professional

  • Provide accurate and timely assessments, care plans, documentation and services, ensuring our employees are qualified to deliver their duties and understand the needs of our clients

  • Provide a welcoming environment for our clients, employees and other relevant stakeholders

  • Ensure that all complaints are recorded and managed in a timely manner

  • All Bhetsy & Co employees follow our Policies and Procedures and report all incidents, accidents, concerns immediately, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our clients, our employees and others.



Bhetsy & Co and their employees agree to keep all client information confidential and will not divulge, disclose, reveal or use this information for any purpose, except as authorised by the client, their representative, or as required by law.
